Receptor Sight ( and the ambient side project the mellow palace ) are from
the small california town of mount shasta. The duo consists of the brothers greg and steve roffeld. steve plays
the guitars and makes sound effects, while greg plays the drums and most of the percussion. Together they both
create drones and sounds on pedals, mixers, bowls, bells, tape machines, and almost anything which can make a noise.
All music is created in a loose, improvisational spirit of experimentation.
All sounds are proudly created and recorded without any computers, laid down to tape in an analog tribute of rawness and compression
free warmth.
The musical influences are vast:
classical, tribal, techno, progressive, metal, 70's krautrock, 60's psychedelia....
